Willys Jeep for Sale

The Willys MB Jeep is arguably the most famous military vehicle of World War II. Developed from a prototype by the American Bantam Car Company, Willys-Overland won the mass-production contract in July 1941 thanks to its 60-horsepower "Go Devil" four-cylinder engine, more powerful than its competitors'. Ford later built the same vehicle under license, under the GPW designation, with parts interchangeable with those of Willys.

Between 1941 and 1945, more than 647,000 units were produced between the two manufacturers (359,489 Willys MB and 277,896 Ford GPW), making the Jeep one of the most-produced vehicles of the war. General George Marshall called it "America's greatest contribution to modern warfare." Willys trademarked the name "Jeep" in February 1943 — a name that has since become synonymous with the light military 4x4.
